Preserving My Emotional Heritage

HAVE YOU EVER HAD A BROKEN HEART?

Be part of the Museum of Broken Relationships!

All of us must be familiar with the pain experienced when a love relationship breaks down. At that point in time, did you wish for a radical process to permanently erase all memories of that washed-out love, of another defeat, of another personal failure?

Did you delete e-mail and SMS messages, throw away photos, or hide objects which reminded you of your broken relationships by burying them in the deepest recesses of your wardrobes and drawers?

Yet, in doing so, beautiful moments of your personal emotional history are also destroyed or lost.

Why not preserve them as part of the Museum of Broken Relationships? Conceptualised in Croatia after the demise of a relationship, this is an artistic project that everyone can contribute to in order to preserve human emotional heritage.

The Museum has since toured internationally, amassing a collection of about 300 exhibits. Each exhibit has a story behind it - sometimes sad and nostalgic, sometimes humorous or ironic. The universal experiences of broken hearts that they embody allow us to transcend cultural and mental confines and relate to one another in personal and very intimate ways.

We invite you to be a donor to this unique museum and to enrich it with your exhibits that have managed to survive despite the end of a love affair. Our Museum offers you a possibility to use creation and memory (instead of destruction and oblivion) to overcome your heartbreak.

Your participation will enrich our existing collection and your exhibits will continue to tell the stories of past Singapore loves on other tour destinations as the Museum travels around the world.

Please find attached a donation form for your use, to tell us more about your donation and the stories behind them.

Submissions should reach us by 15 December 2008.

What's my reward? Catharsis.
I am still struggling to move on from a wreck.
