don't bite more than you can chew

a timely reminder of what the man should already know... the funny thing is that he tries to avoid himself from being reminded of this fact right from the start and yet he finds himself still being reminded. it's like he has made one complete circle.

the fact remains: he is committed. he does not freak upon responsibilities and yet he fears upon expectations. he delivers quite a performance each time and yet he's always feeling unsatisfied with his masterpieces.

maybe he has too high an expectation? maybe he's just a traditional perfectionist?

or maybe he is unable to manage expectations? or that a perfectionist like him has no place in this world?

the line between being committed and over-committed is so fine that he often finds himself crossing over without even realising it. he calls it altruism and positivist, others term it as overexpectation and underdelivering. after all, rome wasn't built in a day...

this is just a simple musing of a muted man, jaded about the condition that he is surrounded with. he wants to break free from the shackles that is pulling him down. he knows everyone wants emancipation and yet he can't give it to them because of the existence of ogres all around him. he is just the way he is, not trying to be spectacular in his white man's burden. (key word: trying)

he lies about being elitist when he is truly grounded in quotidian realities. he says he has given up when he has not even started his embarkation. this man is so problematic, deep and layered beneath the shallow veneer that he paints himself in. at times he feels isolated and yet he enjoys excluding others.

even when he smiles, he is hurt. he hurts himself far too many times and yet he claims resilience - hurts himself while loving others... hurts himself while believing in others... hurts himself just by hurting others. just what the hell is wrong with this man?

i really admire the way this man is built. go to hell with rome, he's bigger than that! he is unpretentious and yet tricky all in one. he thinks he's simple but he is deeper than that. it's fun being him because he's often underestimated, humming the underdog tune to his victory. his call: it ain't over till the fat lady sings...

take me to this man because i think he is real. the world needs real people.
